My son, who loves Tintin stories but is not yet able to read them on his own – that font is a tad small, no? – was beside himself when we found a series of SIX Tintin books on cassette tape. Originally produced by the BBC in 1999, these unabridged full radio plays include all the dialogue, sound effects, and music to make the books come alive. My son flips through his copies as he listens, and laughs out loud at the Captain’s profanities (if only all profanities sounded as good). Here is a list of the books on the cassette series:
- The Black Island
- The Secret of the Unicorn
- Red Rackham’s Treasure
- Destination Moon
- Explorers on the Moon
We don’t carry these audiobooks at ShopTintin - we are waiting for them to come out on CD or as a download. In the meantime, we recommend doing what we do when we want to listen to Tintin and the Captain: we go to our local library.
