New Tintin Blog by Moi!

Hey folks! Just wanted to let you know that I am now the official “Tintin Examiner” over at Examiner.com. I will be posting about Tintin there a few times a week. You might want to check it out. The tone is a lot different at Examiner.com, so you will notice some differences in the way I write. You will also notice that WHAT I write about is different. So, don’t give up on the TintinBlog.com, I am going to continue to write about news, trivia, and a whole lot more at what my wife is now calling my second child.

You can find my first post at Examiner.com here.

Tintin Museum Opens June 2, 2009

I am usually not one to watch Chinese television, but CCTV has a great video news story about the opening of the Tintin Museum. Click here to watch the video. According to CCTV, the museum, which had a VIP/Press opening on May 25, will open to the public on June , 2009. If you don’t like CCTV, try the BBC’s version.

The Sale is Over! Phew!!

The annual Hergé Birthday Sale is over and WOW! were we busy. We had a record turnout this year and sold more in one day than we ever have before. THANKS everyone for choosing to shop with ShopTintin.com!!

Of course, no event is successful without a good team backing it up. So, a special Thank You to Colette (Manager), Ella S. (Fulfillment), and Sarah (All-Around Awesome Person) for all their hard work yesterday and for all the hard work they still have to look forward to – we still have to ship it all out!!

The World According to Tintin

One of the exciting features of Tintin stories is travel. But where exactly is Syldavia, Borduria, or San Theodoros? Our friend over at TintinMovie.org has the answer. He even managed to fit in the Moon! This map is available for purchase or for free download. Here’s a preview:

OMG! Hergé’s Birthday is Tomorrow!

So, tomorrow is what would have been the 102nd birthday of Charles Remi (AKA Hergé). How are you going to celebrate?

For us, we are going to hold a birthday party at our two stores, and have a MASSIVE sale at ShopTintin.com. We think doing both is the least we can do to pay homage to the man who has entertained generations of people around the world.

Oh, and I am most certainly going to read some Tintin with my son…
