Giant Tintin Page in Belgium

tintinpageThe biggest Tintin page in the world has been unveiled in the centre of Belgium’s capital.

Printed on a series of thermo-welded sheets, the page, which displays a scene from the book The Adventures of Tintin: Destination Moon, weighs 350kg and covers 672 sqm.

The author of the Tintin comics, Herge, was born in Brussels and the exhibition of his work in the city centre coincides with a year-long tourism initiative focusing on comic strips.

The event’s coordinator, Micha Kapetanovic, told local media the Destination Moon page was relevant as it was 80 years since the first Tintin book was published but also 40 years since Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the moon.

The giant Tintin page in Brussels, which measures 32 by 21 metres, will be on display in the Grand Place until the end of the week.
