About Us

The Tintin Blog is a fan site dedicated to Tintin and his friends. It is my goal to write original posts, and to present edited versions of news and gossip that exists about Hergé’s most famous creation. I hope to offer the most relevant, though-provoking, and interesting information about the characters and stories that make up The Adventures of Tintin. Tintin is copyright © by Hergé/Moulinsart S.A. 1. I came accross your blog while looking for any and all upcoming tintin auctions, and was wondering if you had any information about upcoming auctions or places to get some of the rarer Tintin items.

Any and all information you have would a be a huge help and would be infinitely appreciated!

    Thanks so much!

    Brent

    • Whenever we hear of auctions, we always post them on our blog. You should subscribe to our RSS feed or add us to your Google Reader or other web aggregator to be sure to stay on top of the most recent news and events.

      Cheers,

  2. I love your website! I’ve been a big fan of tintin for years, and i like to add that there is much more to Herge than the actual Adventures od tintin that we know and love. Herge, and Raymond Leblanc were also the creators of the Tintin magazine which ran from 1946 until 1988 and became an icon for realistic European comics at the time, and introduced, in addition to tintin, great charactors such as Ric Hochet, Alix, and Chick Bill. These charactors are virtually unknown in the US unfortunately. I would love for your great website to expand and introduce to US comic reader what they’re truly missing…

    Thank you

  3. Hi. Can anyone tell me whether the word “backsheesh” is used in any of the
    Adventures of Tintin? Thanks!

  6. Hi,
We just lost a dear friend at the age of 99. She was born in Belgium and was a friend of Herve. He gave her a beautiful drawing of all the Tin Tin characters in Ancient Greece. We were wondering if this was in any of his comics or if it was done just for her(her husband was from Greece). Do you know of any drawing like this?
    Thanks,
    Maggie

    • I think it was an original done just for her. Is there any way you could scan or photograph the image and send it to john@shoptintin.com?

    • Hello,
BTW, the name is Herge NOT Herve, but I won’t hold that against you.
There’s no Tintin adventure that takes place in ancient Greece, I have seen the Thompsons dressed in Greek Guards uniform somewhere however, and there may have been some scenes in Greece in one of the 60′s Tintin movies (the Golden Fleece). This drawinf could be worth a fortune if as you say is an original by “Herge”.

  9. Hi there!

I work for a charity called Tibet Relief Fund, which help Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal. We have been very kindly donated a limited edition Tintin in Tibet “Yeti Portant Tchang” figurine and we would like to sell it for our fundrasing. I was wondering if anyone might be able to advise me on which are the best websites/methods to do this? We have tried selling it on our online ebay shop but sadly it did not sell. I have looked online and there seem to be various French and Belgian sites selling the same limited edition figurine for up to 145 euros. It would be fantastic if we could sell it for around this price!

If someone might be able to advise me about this, I would be immensely grateful! All the money goes towards a very good cause, I assure you! Please contact me at conniejehu@gmail.com, if you can think of anything.

    Many thanks!

  11. I was wondering if you knew of any place where you can buy Tintin memorabilia, such as life size statues of him?

  12. Hi there, I’m going to a fancy dress party this weekend as Tintin and have just finished making my papier-mâché mask. Would it be OK to email you a few photos? If so, can you let me know your email address to share them with you? Thanks, Gareth.

  13. Hello
My name is Fabrice Rousselot and I am the New York Bureau Chief for the French national newspaper Liberation. I am trying to reach somebody from the blog as I am currently working on a story about Tintin in the US before Steven Spielberg’s movie. Is there anyway we could have a chat about Tintin here in America ?
    Thank you
    Fabrice

    • Hello Fabrice,
My name is Maher, I live here in California. The Tintin movie is due to start here on December 21st. I have been a dedicated Tintin lover since I was 8 years old, I was not born here and I must say, Tintin is not very well known in America, there was a moderate following here in the 70′s and 80′s, mostly intellectuals now but I’m afraid the new generation have no idea who Tintin is.

  14. Hi,

I work for the China Exploration & Research Society and we have a charity auction coming up on Nov 18th in Hong Kong to raise money for our conservation work in Tibet and Western China. One lot we are auctioning off a copy of Tintin in Tibet signed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Do you think that Tintin collectors might want something like this? If so, I’m looking for advice on how best to get other bidders and generate buzz about the item raising money for a really great NGO. If you have any thoughts, please contact me at Zoekn1@gmail.com
    Thanks
    Zoe
