See Tintin a week early, if you can afford the airfare

Want to catch the Tintin movie before all of your friends? Looks like it might be possible, if you have a current passport and a few thousand dollars to spend on airfare.

According to Indian Express, Sony Pictures India may release the Tintin movie in India, a week earlier than its U.S. debut. (Of course, you can catch it in Europe as well, but wouldn’t it be more fun to see it in India?)

Willing to travel for your Tintin fix? If not, just how big of a fan are you?

Tintin helps you plan your vacation

With the Tintin movie on its way, there is more and more interest in travel to Belgium. Who better to help you plan your trip than our favorite boy reporter?

In the May issue of Delta’s Sky Magazine, Tintin leads the way for your travels. Okay, so most Tintin fans would have these places on their list already, but perhaps it’s a good source for some hidden gems.

Eating out with Tintin

Over at our website, ShopTintin.com, we received word of a Tintin-themed restaurant and lounge in Montreal called Le Petit Moulinsart. The Belgian/French establishment is covered in Tintin images and its lounge is even called Le Pharoan. Check out a screen shot from their website.

Notice of the Montreal eatery made me think of the only other Belgian restaurant I know of covered in Tintin – Petite Abeille, or “Little Bee”. Many of us from ShopTintin have eaten at the Petite Abeille location on the East side. The food is fine – typical bistro style with mussels, frites, etc. – but the real reason to go is for the large selection of Belgian beers on tap and the outside seating. Be sure to check it out next time you are in the City.

Do you know of other restaurants in North America with Tintin as the theme, or at least a presence? If so, leave a comment with details.

Tintin around the world…

I woke this morning to an email from the owner of creativeworld.com, who has spent months on an educational project involving Tintin and Milou. According to the site:

My unconditional gratitude to all the people whose photos from the Internet I have used to accomplish this huge and beautiful project (8 Months of work) about Tintin & Milou, with the sole purpose of helping children learn about the countries of the world and their capital cities.

A noble project (I just wish there was an option to view the page without music).

Check out the site here and a screenshot from one of the countries below:
