i think these are a set of 5 books, as on the back cover of each book they all have the same 5 titles.

anyone have any idea of their cost?

  4. Hi Jason,
    please excuse my bad english.

The little group of collectors which are specialised of Tintin in all languages is looking for the welsh album. This is not a set of 5 albums, but the edition of the welsh albums stopped after this 5 album.
The most expensive album is Tintin in Tibet or TINTIN A’R DYN-EIRA DYCHRYNLLYD which is seldom and I think it’s price maybe 40 €, the other album are from 15-30 €. Best regards from Germany
    Wolfgang

  5. they should really make more tintin books, i really enjoy reading them.

  6. I’m wondering too if anyone can help me price a set of 16 books, some appear to be Methuen first editions and others are reprints. The covers on many are a bit dog-eared but the inside pages are in very good condition.

    Thanks!

  7. is there any other tintin book?

  8. The only other “Tintin book” is entitled Tintin and the Lake of Sharks, not written by Herge and basically a book based on a movie made after Herge died. It’s not as good as the others, poorly drawn and rather silly. No more will ever be officially published because Herge specifically prohibited his creation to be taken over by anyone else after his death.

  9. I have a question… I once read that the Tintin cartoon series were heavily edited and adapted when it hit American tv’s (that wasn’t the case for other countries, though, and I grew up with the Spanish version in Mexico).
Are the books in English loyal to the original Belgian dialogues? Or are they mere adaptations, too?

  10. The very first ones I’ve read were Tintin in America and Secret of the Unicorn. The most powerful/intense ones I’ve read were Explorers on the Moon and Tintin in Tibet. My personal favourite in terms of comedy is Red Sea Sharks. And my other personal favourite is Black Island.
I’ve enjoyed all the comics even to this day!

    Tintin forever!!!
